With more and more families moving into Dallas, it's time to get a proper sidewalk along our main road, Dallas Drive. I live along this road and see tens of adults, kids, dogs, and babies along this path daily. In the winter it's icy from the plows and hard to see for the drivers. For the safety of our community, let's please get a proper sidewalk in our community!

The calls to the city office are becoming repetitive and exhausting because the silence from them is loud. I spend my evenings reading your comments and it reminds me that we are right to insist on a safe place to walk. We are not stopping until the pavement reflects the value of our lives.

Reaching this point feels like a heavy weight has shifted because people are finally looking at the danger on our road. My nerves are still frayed from that night but seeing this momentum gives me the energy to keep pushing for the safety we need.

In the winter, it is especially dangerous walking on Dallas Drive. There are places where the snow is plowed onto the shoulder, squeezing pedestrians into the roadway. It's especially hard on people with mobility issues. Maybe the city doesn't care about those people.
A few days ago when I was out walking with my stroller, two cars were driving on the "sidewalk" coming towards me, and another two cars parked on it forcing me onto the road or grass, which was very difficult to move the stroller on. I couldn't believe 4 separate incidents from one walk.
A curbed sideway is needed very much so along Dallas drive. My run with my dog down from Todd road in Barnhartvale and along Dallas drive. My 3 kids (13,10,7) usually bike. Having a curbed sidewalk would be amazing. I know I would feel safer for myself, my kids and our fur babies.
Also need a crosswalk at the bottom of the Wing Place walkway that comes onto Dallas Drive. Vehicles come down the hill so fast. A roundabout would be even better to slow them down
Dallas drive needs this desperately. My girlfriend and I had someone drive by us super fast and we gave him the thumbs down to go slower and he turned around and got out of his car and threatened us! It was super scary.
Is it FINALLY going to happen!?
Having a side walk for pedestrians not only provides physical safety, also mental health. Because it will encourage residents to walk more .

We definitely need proper sidewalks. I see kids walking home from school all the time and I feel that the younger kids don’t know that the white line means not go past this as they are on the road and don’t even realize it.
