Dear DAA Leadership Team,

We are writing to express our collective concern and frustration regarding the lack of support DAA has shown towards the Red Crescent Tarahum Initiative. We appreciate the email the school has shared, but we find it vital to bring to your attention our deep concern and disappointment.

DAA’s compass emphasizes on driving a culture of kindness. DAA has always taught us both, parents and students, to commit to principles of equity, justice, compassion, diversity, and inclusion. And therefore, we strongly believe that, once again, DAA and its community should support another humanitarian drive lead by the UAE government.

The lack of action and the vague replies sent to DAA parents individually, fail to meet with DAA’s values. As a school that proudly advocates inclusion and kindness , we are disappointed by the exclusion of any government lead initiative and failure to support our community.

We strongly believe that DAA’s values and integrity require a broader acknowledgment of the situation and a commitment to a purely humanitarian stance especially when other GEMs schools are doing their part. This should be translated through DAA supporting any government led drive through our campus, newsletters and classrooms.

This incident has been demotivating and disheartening for many of us. But we believe in the power of dialogue and understanding. We believe in DAA’s ability to learn from this experience and grow. We hope that this will be a turning point, a chance for us to reaffirm our commitment to inclusivity, empathy, and respect for all.

Sincerely,

DAA Parents

The leadership team at DAA continues to hide behind vague emails while ignoring our clear demand for action. Their silence is a betrayal of the values they claim to teach our children in the classroom.

DAA leadership is banking on us fading away into the background while they ignore this humanitarian crisis. Push this petition right now to hit the 250 mark so they can no longer pretend we are a minority.

We are grinding toward the one hundred mark but DAA leadership is still hiding behind vague excuses. Keep pushing this until they have no choice but to acknowledge our demands.

As a respected school in Dubai we aas parents are confident that DAA like many other schools in UAE will support the UAE's Tarahum government led initiative and many ither humanitarian intitiatives on campus.

Would be amazing to teach the children to be helpful to those in need especially during a humanitarian crisis in the region they live in

This is very sad to see as DAA was always raising donations for different causes. It show lack of humanity and community. Not even an email of support

I’m disappointed that DAA has not taken up current events to use as a teachable moment for the students and gather humanitarian aid to those effected by the war. Where as ASD have Red Crescent trucks collecting the families donations.

I’m very upset to see how DAA hasn’t done anything for Palestine. When other countries were in need, we didn’t hesitate to rally up the troops and collect whatever was required. It’s been 3 weeks and nothing has been done in DAA. Shame on our school for showing no solidarity, no empathy, nothing. Where is our culture of kindness? Thousands of people dead and homeless. They need our help. Now is the time to react and show compassion. Teach the children we don’t turn a blind eye, we help in any way possible.

A basic moral stand, and for the sake of humanity, this is an absolute must. What example is DAA as an institution setting to the students - our children, by doing nothing!
