I think it's ridiculous that I can no .have a say so in my children's education!! I pay my taxes so why can I not choose the school I see fit for her! She's already spent the last year in as pre- k and I want to continue sending her to "her school" !! I pay for her way of getting back and forth I pay for everything and I won't mind paying a fee for out of district. We deserve a choice!!!

Just like in every shoestring tied shoe, there's a loop hole. Bad part is we shouldn't have to feel guilty for finding them in the best interest of our family's education. "We the people" seems to no longer exist.

I do not think this is right at all. we the parents should have the say of where our children go to PUBLIC school. I also would like to point out that some children go to schools not in either parents district due to custody orders

So disappointed in the Fairview/Parkside district school board member Mr Chris Carter. I will be watching as to which way he cast his vote on this matter.

We should be able to send our kids to a school that is suitable for our family not anyone else many of us have family that helps with drop off and pick up with these changes we don't get that help so what are we suppose to quit our jobs and not make a living to support our families that is what's gonna happen to a lot of us with these changes and we choose our kids school so that we know they are going to a good school so is it a crime to want our kids to go to a good school

My son has went to the same school since kindergarten. With the exception of when we lived out of state for one and a half semesters and for the remainder of that semester at another school here in the county. I will not name the school because I do not wish to offend anyone or start a fight. The second school my son attended here in cullman was awful. He was there for almost a semester and came home crying everyday about kids being mean, his teacher being mean and his teacher not explaining his work to him. I talked to the principal and the teacher multiple times. Nothing was done. I couldn't move him because of the situation we were in or I would have. As a result of this my son was failed for the year because his grades diminished. Before this school he had good passing grades. After that year I did everything I had to to make sure he went back to the school he had been at since kindergarten. Now, back at the first school, he went straight back to good grades, no crying and loving his teachers. His teacher the next year even said that he shouldn't have been failed because he tested very well for the grade he should be in. So you're telling me that we shouldn't be able to pick the school our kids attend?! I don't think so!! Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, there is a difference in the level of commitment and education at the schools. We shouldn't be forced to send our kids somewhere that we or they don't want to be!
