Oppose the construction of a Concrete Plant on River Road

I live across the river on the IN side and I oppose this because the industry that is already on River Rd (Buddke, River Metals and Nugent) is dirty, loud and an eye sore to our beautiful water resources. I have years of photos showing air pollution from this area. The city of Louisville should be working on relocating these businesses and trying to attract development of condos and retail like Newport, KY.

I feel the river front should be used for community development either as parks or housing. I don't feel that a concrete plant will contribute moving Louisville into the future.

A while back, the city branded the economic development effort as "Louisville Forward." In light of this nightmare project, I think she needs to considering renaming that effort "Louisville Backward."

Learning about this proposed project has made me stop and wonder what is going on in our city? All of these signature developments of Greg Fischer: FoodPort, West End Wal-Mart, the methane gas plant in the West End, etc. are failing. So now he's trying to open a concrete plant? Louisville is already serviced by ample concrete plants. As an example, Kosmosdale in Valley Station, generates much more concrete than this city or region would ever need. I'm starting to think a strong progressive needs to primary Greg Fischer. He's not demonstrating leadership -- he's an average bureaucrat on his best day. I've not seen an iota of leadership out of this man. This city needs leadership. We need a mayor that would have never let this project even be considered for River Road. Whoever that person turns out being will get my vote and support.

River Road needs to forward, not backwards. Why hurt the direction it has been going in and build this to stave away business? Doesn't make any sense.

I do not support this development in this location. It is an areas that the city continues to focus on as a waterfront for parks, housing and community development endeavors NOT a factory!!!! They have all been moving out over the years for this very reason. It's a ridiculous idea. Hard to believe it's even being considered.

Check out Speed Indiana, north of Sellersburg, for an idea what a cement plant looks like. Dust covers everything has for decades. Not to mention all the heavy truck traffic causing a hazard and damaging River Road.

If you would take a short trip up to Sellersburg Indiana on State Highway 31, you will drive past Essroc, It is a very dirty, air polluted area I don't even like to drive through it on my way home. I can't imagine putting a place like that on river road where you are trying to attract walkers runners and bicyclists. The Iron Man event which I'm sure pulls in a lot of money for our city. Not to mention all the kids at the BMX park right down the road. And the apartments and condos and the people that live there. You've done so many good things for that area why would you ruin it now with something like this???

NO intrusive plant!

The city has done an amazing job getting rid of the eyesores along the the river and giving that space back to the rightful owners, the citizens, why are we going backward now?

Too much effort has been invested in beautifying the waterfront to allow a business like this and its accompanying traffic to take us backwards. Also, given the heavy usage of River Road by cyclists, this seems like a deadly combination.

Try putting the plant next to the chemical plants not in this sensitive already overtaxed part of the county.

River Road is experiencing renewal -the soccer fields, the parks along the Ohio, the botanical park, the walking bridge - all great for locals an tourism. Let this extend into the west side beyond 9th street for economic opportunities, through the east side beyond the watertower to the creek and beyond. Putting an industrial complex in the middle of an effort to make up for the unconscionable interstate plan that blighted the riverfront will make Louisville the Citiy of the Seventies once again. We have to acknowledge and preserve this area as the most efficient and scenic access to Downtown. My family was in a horrible accident at River Rd and Zorn Ave. This is already a dangerous intersections and to add the heavy trucks would eliminate the connection to all of the hard work to improve our urban environment along the Waterfront.

A concrete plant at this location would cause so many problems I don't know where to start. We need less industrial zoning on river road.

Please, No industrial business by the Waterfront Botanical Gardens site!!

Put the concrete plant on the site of the proposed Walmart not on River Road. There are already way too many heavy trucks on River Road.
