Disabled Iraq War Veteran Mark O\'Brien has lost an arm and a leg for his country. Mark just wants to be able to deer hunt with his father during archery season in New York, like he used to. By law in New York he is not disabled enough to qualify for use of a crossbow during archery hunting. The Lawmakers of New York have succumbed to the lobbying special interest groups for too long. The changing of this legislation will allow other disabled people the opportunity to enjoy the great sport of archery hunting. Let your voices be heard through this petition and allow the disabled the chance to enjoy the sport that we so often take for granted!

The petition reached 250 signatures this morning. I have drafted a formal letter for the state legislative hunting committee to review our specific concerns regarding the current disability classification criteria.

We need to hit the 250 signature threshold before I present this file to the Department of Environmental Conservation. Direct the link to your local sporting clubs to gain the momentum required for our upcoming legislative review.

The increase in support has captured the attention of regional news outlets that are now requesting interviews regarding current legislation. I am preparing a briefing document to present to the assembly members next week.

Totally agree. A crossbow is a tool just like any other, let him get back out in the woods.

NYS needs to get with the times. Other states allow this no problem. Thank you for your service Mark.
