PETITION AGAINST Rezoning Application #2017-R-035: Seven Apartment Buildings and 48-Lot Subdivision off Whispering Pines Blvd, Navarre FL
To: Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners, Nov 2017
Special Handling: THIS DOCUMENT CONTAINS PRIVACY INFORMATION
We the undersigned residents strongly object to building seven new apartment buildings and a new 48-lot subdivision off Whispering Pines, Navarre Fl. With more than 1,000+ homes and 10 subdivisions includes Creet’s Crossing apartments, current traffic hazards already exist for other vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists along and with connected roads to Whispering Pines. In addition, new construction will significantly increase air, noise, sound and light pollution for current residents who purchased their homes after being informed that current green spaces were wetlands and protected from commercial or residential construction.
Alternatively, we suggest developers build new facilities in northern Santa Rosa County and work to protect remaining green space property.

The momentum behind this petition proves that the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners can no longer ignore our neighborhood. They think we will sit back while they destroy our wetlands for profit but they are dead wrong.

We were told that it was illegal to build on the wetlands behind our house--they were protected. We couldn't even extend our fence to the property line because of the nature reserve! Also, the traffic is horrible already. It is insane to cram in more apartments in this congested space. I am completely against this environmental disaster!
Our roads can not handle the increase in traffic, our schools can not handle the increase in students, and people who already own homes in this area will take a huge hit. This will particularly affect our military members
We already have houses that are too close, too much traffic on 98 and schools that are way over crowded. Navarre is no longer "The Best Kept Secret". Let's deal with the population growth that we have had. How about making the South End of the county better (ie: roads, restaurants, businesses, etc.) before we encourage a larger population growth into an area that is behind in growth. Fix what we have before piling on more problems to what is already known issues....and these are just a few. Who thinks a couple 1000 people on HWY 98, most likly traveling EAST, is just what we need??
Definately do not want to see this additional construction. Already feel the county has allowed for overdevelopment of this area while not keeping up with the infrastructure to support. Also consider the price of our land was based on limited additional development by the landowners who would now stand to devalue our property while lining there pockets
I whole heartily disagree with this development!! We can’t even control speeders in or subdivision now, how much worse do you think it will be with an additional 400-500 cars zooming through our streets. The County wants to rezone?? Really? They won’t even put speed bumps in on Pouder or Abaco now to control traffic. You’re supposed to fix problems not make new ones, and don’t even get me started on property values!!! I say NO!!
This is the nice family oriented community. Increase of traffic is only one of our many concerns. Low income and section 8 housing is not appropriate for this area.
NO to the rezoning

They bought the land as R1 (Single Family Residential) and now wish to change the zoning to high density.....what RIGHT do they have to negatively impact everyone else in the area that bought in the same R1.
