Persimmons finally walked away from this project because they knew we were not going to let them poison our town with this reckless development. The council should have been defending us from the start instead of selling out to a corporate developer. Keep your eyes open because we need to …

The Land north of Station Road, Cramlington, is the green heart of our town, but it has an industrial heritage, the development may cause stythe gas to be vented into local housing, which can cause death. See http://www.northumberland.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=7642 http://hansard.millbanksystems.com/commons/1995/mar/01/mine-workings-northumberland The development of 700 houses will cause disruption to the local infrastructure with no plans for extra school places after primary or any significant road structure improvements. There are also concerns about how water that will run off the site and how this may affect the Northburn Estates near the burn and the increase flood risk. To compare the site size, it will be the same size as all the Parkside Estates, Nelson Village and Westwood combined. Part of the development also includes shops at a time when the shops in Manor Walks are empty, seven football pitches with flood lights which will be between Westwood and Parkside and will impact parking on local streets, as well as litter. This petition is part of the Cramlington Save our Spaces or Cramlington SOS Campaign; Unfortunately the Town Council which is meant to listen to local opinion has an agreement to work in partnership with Persimmons homes and is supporting this development. This petition is to show the depth of public opinion against the development.

The Cramlington Town Council can no longer ignore the sheer scale of the opposition gathering against this reckless Persimmon project. They are selling out our green space for corporate profit and we are the only ones standing in their way.

Cramlington is getting ruined by all these new builds. leave our fields alone the council needs to start listening to the actual people who live here
