Dear Maria,
It has come to our attention the need to reach out to you about an ongoing issue here at Berklee Valencia that has become extremely frustrating, and what is becoming a hindrance to our progress as players and performers. Simply, we feel that we are not getting enough access to practice rooms we so need as performers in order to attain our goals and accomplish our tasks as students.
Many of us as performers, especially the musicians who play instruments that are too loud to practice at home, are experiencing a lack of practice room availability here on campus. This frustration has been compounded by a new and larger undergrad student body, giving us even less access to our very much needed resource.
We understand the school’s need to enroll a healthy student body, but the physical space here does not support the performance program due to the record amount of students now attending the Berklee Valencia campus.
We would like to offer some solutions that hopefully you would consider:
1. We have found studios in town with fully equipped sound stages and rehearsal rooms. If Berklee can arrange an agreement to let students use the studios at a discount, this would alleviate the congestion here on campus from having too many people trying to use the same rooms at the same time for rehearsals.
2. The possibility of installing portable sound proof booths at different locations in and around the school. They do come with windows so people can see in and out, and they could be placed in safe locations.
3. Putting keyboard stations on multiple tables around the school where there is space, so students don’t have to rely on getting a practice room with a piano.
We thank you for your incredible hard work of bringing the finest guest mentors and teachers to our program here on campus and connecting us to this wonderful city that is Valencia.

The administration remains silent despite the volume of signatures we have already gathered. Reach out to the Dean of Academic Affairs today to demand they address our lack of studio access. Send a direct email to their office and tell them that we cannot perform to our potential without proper facilities.

We hit our first major milestone today and it proves that the administration cannot ignore our struggle for practice space any longer. Post the link to your Facebook timeline and email your department representative to demand they address these capacity issues now.

So tired of wandering the halls hoping a door is unlocked. Paying this much tuition and cant even find a place to practice is ridiculous.
its impossible to get a room lately. i have to be at school at 6am just to find a spot. please fix this.
