Mayor Keeler stated during his campaign that he would restore honesty and integrity to the City of Cohoes. Council Vice President Don Russell has been found in violation of two ethics codes for unlawful use of municipal resources and mis-use of his public office for personal gain by the City of Cohoes ethics board based upon a thorough investigation of a complaint. The council, through resolution #50 of 2020 only fined him $500.00 and no censorship. He remains council VP and continues to represent the people of the 2 nd ward. We call upon Mayor Keeler to publicly call for Mr. Russell to resign his public office. Furthermore, we call for Mr. Russell himself to take the high road and resign his office for violating the public trust.

This is a travesty...noone, especially an elected official should be able to get away with nothing more than a slap on the wrist for an ethics violation, let alone 2. This man needs to be removed from office representing the people of Cohoes!
Stopping a woman from opening her business in cahoes based on lies he formed doesn’t seem like integrity to me
I believe a council member should be held to a higher standard and be an example of what and how things should be done. Don Russell should resign his office because his example has shown us he has NO Integrity.
Corruption everywhere and this council and mayor do nothing. Guy literally stealing and gets a measly fine. He’s got to go!

Please resume this asap. He isnt doing the 2nd ward any good. And he gives Cohoes a bad reputation. Restore integrity and remove Don Russell 2nd ward of Cohoes, NY 12047.

No one should be able to use an elected office to get insider information on real estate transactions, and then use that knowledge for personal financial gain in land deals. He must resign.
