Cork Dockyard LTD in Cobh, has applied for planning permission to change the use of part of the site to a Metal Recycling facility and waste storage. The metal recycling will range from scrap metal to old cars, which also means hazardous waste will be stored at the facility. They are anticipating that 92 trucks full of metal and waste will be delivered to the site on a daily basis. The road infrastructure is not able to handle this volume of traffic. There is possiblity of air pollution. Significant noise and vibration will also be a result, signifcantly detracting from this beautiful area.
