WE petition to have a CORE special meeting to discuss the upcoming vacancies for CTU officers and CTU trustees.

WE petition to have a CORE special meeting discuss recommendations on filling those vacancies or leaving those vacancies open.

We undersigned are petitioning for a CORE special meeting to discuss and make recommendations as stated above to happen before the next CTU Executive Board Meeting on August 27, 2018 .

Updates

August 16, 2018

It is honestly surreal seeing how many of you popped up to demand this meeting because I really was just sitting at my desk feeling like I was the only one worried about these vacancies. I can barely keep up with the notifications and it is just wild to realize how much we all seem to be on the same page about needing a real discussion before the board meets.

A transparent democratic process is what is consistent with CORE's values and what we need to stay united and strong in facing the challenges ahead.

We need to be vigilant so that don't slowly move into being a "top down" decision making organization.

This is about our identity as a caucus. My understanding is that we believe that the union should be rank and file should lead the union, it’s in our name. Moving this to eboard without first having an internal process that is open to all members of the caucus would be an aberration.

This sounds right to me. I am hoping we don't need this petition because Steering had intended to go through our normal process anyway..?

Just makes sense. Its democracy.

Seems like a sensible and open thing to do. Why are people against a meeting?

Democracy, debate and transparency defeats cronyism, collusion and corruption.
