Dear Coral Lago Board members,

The residents of Coral Lago HOA (Coral Springs, Florida) urge you to create a climate action plan in order to reduce our green water waste and fight the impending climate crisis.

Last year our community wasted an enormous amount of water. This year the proposed budget is to increase the waste of water.

As the climate here gets more and more variable, this trend will continue.

Studies are grim: Florida is running out of drinking water from the Floridan Aquifer, our main source of drinking water which has been relatively clean, cheap and plentiful — until now.

As I’m sure you already know, The EPA has already adopted water savings (water sense EPA Florida) climate resolutions amid widespread support for a better water sense.

That fact is not only an exciting path to follow, but an urge to catch up so that our HOA doesn’t fall behind and lose its reputation (especially the builder KHOV).

We call for the implementation of a climate action plan by a review of the water spend budget proposed and rescheduling the budget meeting until a review is done for all water expenses for the community.

Thanks so much for taking the time to listen. Robust economic development and community prosperity hinges on a planet that can support human life. We are excited to hear what positive changes we can see in our sustainability budget policy moving forward.
