I live across from this tree and can see it from many rooms of my house. I remember seeing it out the window at the open house and thinking, wow, if we lived here we could look at that gorgeous tree every day. Every time a loud truck drives by, my four year old runs to the window in a panic to make sure "they're not cutting my favorite tree down". Several other street trees in the Walnut/Metcalf area have been cut down in the past two years and haven't been replaced. Please don't destroy this ancient, majestic tree. It really matters a lot to the people of this neighborhood, and I'm sure any potential buyers would see it as an asset.

This tree is as historic as our City! Please don't cut it down, or damage it's roots. Save it for our children and grandchildren, and beyond, to enjoy.

This is a spectacular tree, and hopefully will outlive us all. It will live on as a testament to your professed love of trees. Please do the right thing.

This tree is awe-inspiring! It would be a tremendous loss for so many if it was removed.

The tree not only makes the property on which it sits, but makes the street. Please preserve it. I am sure its removal would impact the sale price of the condos in the beautifully renovated house.

We should make an effort to save all trees but more importantly older and more majestic trees as they are in danger of disappearing from the current landscape. Mature, healthy trees have been removed in many places in Medford where it was completely unnecessary to do so. The moniker of "Tree City" that was been bestowed on Medford by its previous mayor is a complete fallacy and could not be further from the truth. Let's not add this one to the wood pile too!

Large shade trees such as this spectacular copper beech are a distinguishing hallmark of Medford, and add to the appeal of living here. It would be a shame to lose a piece of history that once removed, cannot be replaced in our lifetimes.

While you have the right to modify your property as you choose, it would be a shame to cause the death of such of beautiful, healthy tree that has lived in Medford for (arguably) hundreds of years.
Thank you for your consideration of this petition's request.
