I live around the corner from this tree..it is a beautiful tree...I would like to suggest that a fund be seen up on the Internet and ask for donations with the intent to pay off the developer to leave the tree standing and not develop the land..if one million people donate $1.00..just a thought..

That beautiful tree has been part of this neighborhood my entire life. It's loss would greatly diminish the historic home it adorns as well as the neighborhood. Please do the right thing.

My family moved to Metcalf St in 1955 and I have watched this tree grow since then. It should remain.

This historic tree has been of great pleasure to us during the 44 years here on Metcalf Street. The walking tours here in Medford provided by the Medford Historic Society have stopped at this corner to admire both the house and this magnificent tree. Medford was know as the "Tree City" and indeed when we first moved to Metcalf Street the trees lining both Thomas and Metcalf Street were like a giant green canopy. Many of these trees have been cut down over the years, please, please don't cut down or cause any damage to the life of this copper beech tree at 23 Walnut Street. Let Medford live up to it's name as the "Tree City"

Medford Should be more proactive in preserving our trees,to many are cut down without a second thought. they are a wonder of nature and should be incorporated into our suroundings at all times

Developers who are in a position of disturbing a community's history and a neighborhood's character for the sake of the almighty dollar need to be reminded candidly that it is not right. This complete South Street/Touro Avenue/ Walnut Street neighborhood has such a rich history of homes and of nature that Mr. Kenworthy should nicely embrace as inclusive of his proposed development ... thereby demonstrating that he is a developer with a heart and a respect for our Medford.
