Convert existing North American Squash courts (2) at the River Oaks Recreation Centre into International Squash Courts. These North American squash courts at the River Oaks Recreation Centre are under utilized and they could serve better the fast growing squash community in Oakville, ON. Squash Courts at Glen Abbey are going to be insufficient in the next year as demanding for squash court time is increasing faster than expected. More members, more squash lessons, more pay-as-you-go users cannot receive the service they deserve with 3 international courts and 1 racquetball converted at Glen Abbey, additional International squash courts are needed to satisfy the growing demand. North American squash courts are dead space at River Oaks. They only have approximately 20 members and that's because they cannot have court time at Glen Abbey and not because they like the North American squash game which by the way is already dead worldwide. The construction of the new North Park Recreation Centre is planned to start in 2015 but there are no plans so far to build squash courts in this new facility. By the way, all the squash tournaments are played in International Courts also Squash would be an Olympic sport in 2016 using only international courts. Please sign this petition and promote the practice of this beautiful sport in our community. Sincerely, Carlos Gonzales Glen Abbey Squash member

Total waste of space right now. International is the standard everywhere else anyway.

Agree 100 percent. The game has changed and the facilities need to catch up. do it now.

Great idea. The demand is there and river oaks is the perfect spot. Why have empty courts when you could have full ones?

Finally! Those old courts are just sitting there collecting dust. Hardly anyone plays hardball anymore. Let's get with the times.

I play at Glen Abbey and it is impossible to get a court on weekends. We really need more international courts in Oakville.
