Dyson finally caved to the pressure and confirmed the return of the Contrarotator design. It is about time they realized that quality engineering beats their race to the bottom. Keep your eyes peeled because we are going to hold them to every word of this announcement.
Dear Mr Dyson.
This is an open letter and petition for you to strongly reconsider restarting the manufacture of the Contrarotator washing machine.
The history of this washing machine was very short lived and this petition will hopefully grow to a size to show you how many existing and potential users feel that it should be made available yet again to the UK market. As I am sure you are aware, British history is littered with great inventions that demised much before their time.
We feel that while the reasons for is discontinuation are obviously yours alone to consider, there is still a strong enough demand for the machine albeit not mass market as some of the extremely cheap machines available. I would ask those leaving a signature to state if they feel the number of options was necessary and whether a single machine such as the CR01 memory would have been sufficient. Also not withstanding the colourful scheme of the Dyson brand, whether a more subtle colour tone would have been more acceptable to buyers.
There are rumours abound that there is a potential successor to the original Contrarotator. We can only hope that it doesnt forsake the key selling features of the original machine. While there are many machines that claim to have 7.5kg and 8kg loads, they still cannot match the volumatic duvet capacity of the Contrarotator. Many of the owners of the new breed 8kg of machines may be highly disappointed in this regard to the expectation of this volume capacity.
We hope this petition will be viewed in positive light and look forward to your response as the number of signatures grows. As a recent purchaser of a secondhand CR01 I can also say how happy I was to have a friendly and helpful conversation with one of your call centre employees.
Dyson thinks we should settle for the cheap plastic junk filling the market today but the comments on this petition prove people want real engineering back. My inbox is full of horror stories about modern machines failing after only two years while the CR01 is still running strong in homes everywhere. Do not let them pretend this machine was a failure when the truth is they just gave up on quality.

Keep the mechanics but change the colours to just plain white or silver and it will sell like crazy. most people just want something that actually works well.

Mine lasted 15 years and I miss it every single wash day. Modern machines are just plastic junk that break after two years.
