The work we do to help consumers has increased with ACA and dealing with healthcare.gov From helping prove citizenship to showing they aren't in jail not counting how to find the proper plan. We can't do this for free

My customers depend on my knowledge and integrity to help them choose the best plan for their circumstances. If I am not being paid for my knowledge and time, eventually my office will close and they will have no guidance.

Licensed agents have been trained to assist the public with the complex insurance industry. We offer unbiased consulting to the public and are not beholden to any specific carrier.

Mistakes in the law should be addressed so that the agent pay structure is client centered. As more and more the payer is a third party, commission compensation ensures a sustainable relationship outside of the bureaucratic maze.

The insurance game has gotten so complicated and changes so often that having a professional to guide me through it is critical. In addition, if commissions are removed, all the brokers will lose their livelihood, which is not good for them, their families or the economy.

The expertise provided by insurance agents to consumers who do not have the time or energy to fully educate themselves on the (changing) ins and outs of insurance is a crucial safeguard for both consumers and insurance companies in negotiating the dance of coverage. Please continue to compensate the agents, so that we may all benefit from such an invaluable resource.
Sincerely,
Alan Anderson

Big insurance does not have the consumer's interest at heart. Never has, not even now with Obamacare. An Agent is the only one who has the consumer's back. Their service and advice is invaluable. They deserve to be paid! So since we have been paying the agents through our premiums anyway, will insurance be sending out refunds or pocketing the money? I think I know the answer.
