Thank you to all who signed and showed courage and strength to stand up for your kids. I will email each of you the response from the superintendent and Fr. Nathaniel, so you can see their stance and make your decision on what you want to do with your children going forward. They have refused an ask for an open forum to explore solutions and ways to fix a fractured community. This was turned into an attack on the teachers, which it was never meant to be. We respect them and want what is best for our school and students.

I am interested in addressing these issues and would like to hear what other parents concerns are. We have been happy with AVE, but recently have had concerns and are happy to share these.

Previous family. Very disheartened by lack of leadership and handling issues at hand. We left because said “open door policy” was a one sided conversation. Best of luck parents. Advocate for your students- someone needs too!

Dear Concerned Parents, Thank you to the person who sent me this petition so I that I was made aware. I have spoken with some of you, and I understand your frustration about not being able to be told specific details when a situation arises that is concerning and upsetting to the community. Unfortunately, as I have told you and the Diocese has shared, FERPA law is very specific on what can and cannot be shared in any type of situation that pertains to children. I have not conferenced with all who have signed, but I believe you all love Ave Maria Catholic School and its community, and you have signed because you would like AMCS to be the best community it can be, (just as I do). I have had the opportunity to be at AMCS for 15 years serving in administration. My children have attended and have grown up with our loving and kind staff. I feel blessed to be a part of this faith filled and supportive family. As a family, there will be times we do not agree. There will be times we have conflict, and I always appreciate working with you in partnership. I can see there is hurt and division. I will not be using this platform to communicate further, but would like to extend my open door policy for anyone who would like to speak and work on resolution. Christ unites. I ask that you all pray for the community, for the children or child that has caused your family pain or concern, for their family who is also hurting, and for the faculty and staff who have been called to educate, support, and love all our children.
