Dear Barbara
Subject: Concern Regarding Recent HOA Fee Increase
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my concern regarding the recent increase in the Homeowners Association (HOA) fees for our community(from $309 to $350). As a resident and homeowner, I understand that costs may fluctuate over time; however, the scale of the increase seems disproportionate and is causing significant financial strain on many residents, including myself.
I kindly request that the HOA board and community management review the budget and take steps to reduce the current fee increase. While I appreciate the ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the community, I believe that careful examination of the overall budget may reveal opportunities for cost-saving measures that would allow for a more modest increase—or ideally, a reduction in fees altogether. In particular, I would suggest the following areas for further review:
- Contracted Services: Are there opportunities to negotiate better rates with service providers, such as landscaping, maintenance, and security? Or if we can reduce the number of landscaping in a month or so.
- Reserve Funds: Can the reserve fund be adjusted to better balance the immediate needs with long-term planning, potentially reducing the need for fee increases in the short term?
- Operational Efficiency: Is there room to streamline operations, reduce administrative costs, or eliminate any redundant expenses?
I understand the importance of maintaining a healthy budget to ensure the ongoing care of our community. However, it is crucial that these costs are managed responsibly to prevent financial burdens on residents, particularly in challenging economic times.
I would appreciate it if the board could review these concerns and consider more cost-effective measures moving forward. Additionally, I request that an open forum or meeting be scheduled where homeowners can provide their input on this matter, fostering a more transparent and collaborative decision-making process.
Thank you for your time and attention to this important issue. I look forward to hearing from you and working together to find a balanced solution.
Sincerely,707 Dunn Circle
