me and my brother were taken from malta and used abused sexually physically and mentally ....I had a class action case in New york Ellul V christian brothers and sisters of mercy ...They lied and we have proof now as the same priests made affidavits here and in new york and are going to expose this on tv with my lawyer Adrian Joel in Sydney .... Australia has to now know what we have kept secret because of the court case but seeing in december they threw it out after 8 yrs and half a million dollars to lodge the documents we along with my lawyers Rajan Sharma and Neil De Young in Madison Ave New York can prove the lies ..... We have receive No compensation from Chgristian Brothers at all ...my other brother received hush money .....kind regard Manuel Ellul

The UK must have and still probably has the coldest heart in the world when it comes down to slave labour, there is not enough money in the world that can compensate slave labour, torture, sexual abuse and raping of children, by Authorities that people believed in. In this world today they Isis is evil but they take second place to the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Rhodesia, South Africa and all the other Countries that stole the souls of children.

Having grown up in the (unabused) care of Barnardos I knew some of the boys sent to Australia and support any efforts to compensate for any sufferering they may have gone through.

My hubby was trafficked here in 1960 from Malta under the British Government . He needs compensation as he didnt want this ! He still suffers today at 71 with nightmares.

They took me as a child from Malta under British Government told me my parents were dead and told my parents i died on ship coming to Australia ..Lied my parents died 1987 and 1997 ..they took me in 1960 Trafficked and my parents did not want that i was told 37 years later ..I went through hell of sexual physical and mental abuse ...I live it still at 71 yrs of age ..its been hell and back for me for many many years , and yes we do need compensation ...i have nothing to show of my life i was never taught english and beaten to near death when i spoke Maltese ...i was never schooled , so im a dumb idiot .

I'm signing this petition because these people should not be forgotten. What they went through is heart breaking and will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

My family waited 60+ years to be reunited. I've missed out on years of time with my family because of the lack of information given by the British government.

About time this happened

Having had two brother's and a sister sent there in 1952, I have only seen them five times , they are due some recompense for what they went through.

My grandfather and great Aunty was 2 of the children taken from there family and sent to Fairbridge homes pinjarra We grew up hearing about what happened.

I along with my brother and 2 sisters were sent to Fairbridge Pinjarra .The memories that we all share are not pleasant and remain with us all today

Myself 2 brothers and sister were all former Child Migrants. It would take to long to have my say. So to cut it short we were mentally and physically abused. It never leaves us scared for life

This happened to my family, my mother grew up not knowing she had brothers and sisters. I grew up without my uncles, aunts and cousins.

My Uncle was one of the child migrants sent to Australia. He was found in 1987 enabling him to be reunited with his mother & family in UK. My Grandmother had 4 years with him before she died. It unimaginable what he went through and the UK Government have admitted responsibility. Now it’s time to compensate the victims.

In 1932 Barnardos literally kidnapped my father from the street on which he lived in Belfast. He was only seven. His name and entire identity was changed - he went from knowing himself as Harry Sloan to John Smith. He was sent to Australia in 1934.

Compensation to the victims of the institutional abuse of children involved in child migration needs to be addressed while the approximately 2000 survivors are still alive!

I narrowly escaped being sent to Australia as a child in 1952 because some distant relatives had other ideas, though not one that was in my interests.

Compensation needs to be offered without question and without opening old wounds. Some of the migrants will have managed to survive by blocking out the worst of their experiences and creating new memories. This doesn't mean they don't deserve some recompense. Indeed, the surviving families of migrants have also suffered enormously because of the scheme. How could these grown up migrants behave as normal loving parents when they had no experience of it in their childhood. Their poor start has just been perpetuated. Already, the family situations this has created have been devastating in many cases.

My father came out to Fairbridge Farm School in Pinjarra Western Australia in 1934 aged 13 never spoke about what happened until he passed 2015 but did say step out of line and you got belted.

My grandad used to tell me about his friends in England who went on a ship to Aus and they never saw them again. I forgot about it until I came across Margaret Humphreys book and the story has changed my life and my perspective. You strong, amazing people. Who stood in the face of abuse and evil and found the determination to pull through and survive so you could share your story.
