Senior Fire Service Officers have proposed to the Fire Authority (our pay masters) that 3 retained stations, Mayfield, Burwash and Herstmonceux be downgraded to night time cover only and all 6 day crewed stations to have daytime cover only from wholetime staff.  The details can be found in the publicly available Rural Review Document. These measures save the tax payer almost no money at all and cost the local communities dearly. These downgrade's are just a precursor to full station closure in the next year or two. Please help by signing the petition and distributing the attached letter to local councillors and MP's , we have to prevent the Fire Authority from voting to accept the changes at the meeting in August 2010.
