The street would be amazing without cars. We should extend the closure to the whole of the downtown core. Opponents will say that they could loose business, however the draw of a closed street to gather would likely increase business by attracting more people to downtown.

Having the street closed increases the appeal of heading to town for drinks, dinner and meandering. We know it will be a social atmosphere and are thus more likely to head into town and spend money.
