The preschool that currently resides at the Community School will be moving to a new building, leaving the Community School building empty. This school has meant so much, to so many over its many years of operation. What us, the residents of Pacific would like to see is the building turned into a Community Center, something Pacific has been lacking for far too many years. A place to hold group classes, meet up for yoga or basketball. Local entrepreneurs could use their skills to teach classes such as photography, music, and art. Large local fundraisers could have a place to call home. In this way, we feel as if the Community School could continue to enrich the hearts and lives of the residents in Pacific and surrounding communities. Pacific could finally have the community hub that it so deserves.

I have requested a formal meeting with the city planning department to discuss the transition of the school building into a community hub. The proposal document is currently under review by local zoning experts to ensure our plans align with municipal requirements. I will provide an update once the department confirms a date for the initial consultation.

The volume of support has secured us a formal meeting with the city planning department next week. We are currently drafting the proposal to demonstrate how this school facility can be converted into a viable community hub.

I'm running for Alderman and my plan was to attempt to acquire this building for this use. There are several grants out there that we can apply for and fund the community center with. We can better our community and not use tax dollars.
I think turning this into a teen outreach or community center would be great our local teens have nothing productive to do with their free time in town so they turn to illegal activities if we gave them somewhere to go it might decrease these levels ...thank you
I went to school here way back when and my grandpa went to school here back in the 30s this buiding has a lot to offer . Even tho I do not live here anymore I would love nothing more than it turned into something meaningful as it did way back when .
turning the community school building into a community center, in my opinion, is a wonderful idea. a place for the families in our small community to gather and join in town activities and programs would not only be benificial but i think is an essential part of any community that we have been lacking for too long.
I love this idea. Pacific really needs this for our youth.. All of Franklin county really! I would definitely volunteer my time to lead a Theater group..

I think this would be a great place to host High School Equivalency classes and English language classes for adults, too
