Lundin Links is a village, yet cars, vans and and lorries drive through like it's a race track. Largo Road, particularly between the Lundin Links Hotel and the Cupar Road, is an accident waiting to happen as traffic races down the steep hill. The narrow pavements offer no protection to pedestrians from the speeding traffic. Mums with buggies walking children to school, playgroup or nursery have to walk this route every day and face this danger. Crossing the road is virtually impossible without gambling on the outcome. Today (9 January 2014) two local mums with their babies in buggies and small children were nearly hit in separate incidents. Next time they might not be so lucky.

We need Fife Council, to take urgent action to make this road safer for pedestrians. Please sign this petition.

I have been walking that stretch near the hotel every morning lately and the speed of the traffic is still terrifying. Fife Council has not responded to my latest inquiry but these signatures are proof that our neighborhood refuses to accept this constant danger for our children.

Seeing this kind of momentum brings me back to the terror I felt watching those families dodge traffic on that hill last week. It is clear that this village is finally saying enough is enough.

So pleased this is being highlighted at last! I have grandchildren living here and I have difficulty crossing every single time. Lorries are the worst, but vans and cars are really bad too. I often shout at drivers to slow down! Grumpy old woman!

Lorry skid marks on the path at the blind corner just past the hotel. Anyone walking there would have been killed.

Having a daughter knocked down and nearly killed several years ago on this road, I am very happy to support this action.

Traffic calming needed day and night. We live on Largo Road and my 3 year old daughter is constantly woken up by the noise of the cars flying along the road, for example delivery drivers who are out and about very early, def don't stick to the max 30 mph. The state of the road doesn't help either...

As a local business owner located on the main road I am constantly shocked at the speed and bad behaviour of road users. Car trucks and motorbikes. I will not allow my children to walk along this road as I know first hand the risk of being involved in a road traffic accident.

I used to live on largo road until October last year. I have offered my drive for police to put a camera to observe the road but they have declined. While living there the things I saw you would think I had made them up. From the bad bend at hotel through to the village end is a race track to many. One of the reasons we have moved house.

It's much worse on bin days when bins take up the whole width of pavement!
