Change council’s chosen name for the water front project “Dry Dock Junction” to a name that includes word ‘Shipyards’ and omits all words ‘Dry, Dock, and Junction’ . Th new name options including ‘Shipyards’ to be voted on by town residents.
The name that is being considered has nothing relative to collingwood and its heritage and history. “Dry Dock” sounds like a bar on the water. It has a negative connotation attached to it. This little town survived many productive years because of the shipyards. It is a vital part of this community with deep roots and memories for many generations of hard working families. Many of which still reside here. This town deserves respect and a proper vote should take place to name this important piece of Collingwood history. Commemorating the families and generations of hard working citizens. Some of which still reside within. Make them proud!

Please allow the public to vote on this. The chosen name does not reflect our heritage. And sounds corny.

Well announced public meeting needs to be held so long time residents are aware of meeting. Especially those who do not have computer access. Name needs to reflect our rich heritage pertaining to ship building. . The name Dry Dock means nothing to most people who have grown up in Collingwood. Hoping for better name.
