Citizens of Golden Gate have been awaiting a bonafide grocery story for ages and now it may sit empty because The utility company is negligent and the CC Commissioners are dragging their feet? It's time to do the right thing.

remember this is just another political loophole, and don't forget it when you go to vote, do you vote??? This company has spent millions of dollars to give us a service close to our homes. We have waited years for this and have to be held up by the powers to be. Let Publix move forward so we all can see some relief in our taxes, that's right when you encourage commercial business to our community we also get a tax benefit from it, if not something is terribly wrong with the people we have elected to represent us.

Many of us, Collier County homeowners living in the area serviced by ORANGETREE utility, have long suffered from poor service provided by this company and now the Publix we have waited for so many years is delayed (potentially forever) in opening because of this company. Several of us have written to you (commissioners) and received rather generic replies advising about the meeting on Jan. 24th, without explanation of why this has happened and what the intent of all Commissioners is at that meeting. We have discussed this, and your generic replies, on the Nextdoor.com ORANGETREE Community page and the Facebook Estates Community page forums, discussing the fact that Collier County has been legally entitled to take over ORANGETREE utility for many years, and fault the BOCC for not taking action to take over the utility and properly support Estates residents. When we have written to you about this, none of us have received satisfactory explanations of why this one company - one man, it seems – (R. Bollt) has been able to hold us hostage for his personal profits for so long without the intervention of the political authorities we elected to perform duties exactly like this. This negatively impacts all our quality of lives, our home values, and it has cost all Collier County taxpayers (not just Estates residents) thousands in litigation. Would you please reply with an explanation as to why this has been allowed to persist and provide some type of assurance that the water company will be taken over by Collier County and the new Publix will be allowed to open? Three questions: 1. Why has this happened? 2. Why haven’t you solved this problem yet? 3. What exactly is planned to solve this problem? Please reply so we can understand how you are serving the people who elected you. A petition was just started yesterday and already has many signatures and comments – worth reading – from the local voting taxpaying homeowners showing how the lack of resolution and the l

Thank you Robert Keane, maybe we will be able to understand why this was allowed t happen by the people we elected to make sure things like this don't happen to taxpayers and homeowners!

I don't understand why our elected Commissioners have delayed this process for so long and allowed one man to hold our wonderful neighborhood hostage. I have started to review campaign contribution records on file with to see if that might be why they have allowed Roberto Bolt to continue, stay tuned.

It appears that OTU has been negligent with its system maintenance, customer services, & business liabilities. The county needs to finalize the takeover process before there are irreparable damages that would cost its citizens hundreds of thousands to correct. This would greatly effect future growth & tax incentives for Collier county.

With all the chaos in the world, I don't feel we're asking for much with requesting to "stop holding us hostage and open our Publix!" I haven't lived in the estates as long as most (4 years), but I can truly appreciate and understand the need for our Publix! Please, both parties, stop this nonsense and settle!! Respectfully Yours, Tara

We have been held hostage by Orange Tree Utility for too long! Enough is enough! It's time for both parties to agree and settle. Honor the terms of your contract Mr. Bolt. Someone mentioned putting all of our water payments in escrow? Is this an option? A legal way to pressure him without having our water turned off?

OTU is an extremely rude and unprofessional corrupt organization. We ask collier county to step in a shut them down once and for all.
