we actually pulled it off and the new maker space is officially happening. i cant stop smiling because building this thing with all of you was so worth it. keep an eye out for updates on when the doors finally open.

Final supporters
A proposal for a collaborative maker space has been on the Capilano website for some time. Read it here at capilanou.ca/about/strategic-planning – look in the right hand menu under Proposal for Collaborative Space.
A facility like this would allow students from different programs to collaborate on projects, work together in a shared environment, and use a variety of equipment that we don’t currently have access to (some possibilities being 3-D printers, a pottery studio, computer lab, etc). If you have ideas of what you'd like to see in a shared space at Cap, let us know in the comments or on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/capumakerspace/

This is an awesome thing to have. I currently use a makerspace in downtown but would love to have on on campus.
As a Capilano University and IDEA Program alum, this would have been an incredible resource that would have made a significant positive impact on my learning and my ability to realize projects and collaborate with students from my own faculty as well as others to create even better end results. It would also help further set the university apart as a place of innovation and collaboration.
Very excited for the opportunity if it involves a professional printer and photography set up.
Collaboration and creativity should be at the heart of any institution. Art is not an add-on to how we live. It is a fundamental way through which we view and experience the world. Please make a space for it.
Cap U has a wonderfully diverse student and faculty population. Sadly, we have few opportunities/spaces for inter-departmental collaboration. A maker space is a great place to start. Let's make it happen!
As an acting student at cap I know that we need this badly

Would really appreciate a new creative space on campus! Might actually make me want to stay at school and not book it out of there right after class.
