This is a petition to call on the Canadian Government to amend the current import laws on products made from the coca leaf produced in Peru and Bolivia for non-narcotic purposes. The undersigned ask that coca teas, flour and cosmetic products be legalized within Canada. In hopes of providing a non-illicit venue of trade for coca farmers in Bolivia and Peru, harmless products containing coca should be allowed to be sold. Currently, the cocaine industry makes up most of Bolivia's GNP despite it's illegality throughout the world, coca tea is an alternative source of revenue that has been blocked off by international markets due to the fact that governing organizations equate coca leaves with cocaine. Cocaine is made from battery acid and gasoline, coca is made from water and sunlight. Mummies dating back from 3000 BC have been found chewing coca leaves. It is time for Canadians to enjoy the health benefits of this sacred plant.

The Canadian government continues to ignore the massive distinction between a sacred leaf and processed poison. I am currently reaching out to trade officials to stop their lazy policy of equating tradition with illicit operations. Their silence on this issue is absolute cowardice.

Please allow for coca tea... there are no issues with it and safer than aspirin.
This tea is nothing compared to marijuana. Coffee has a strong stimulating effect compared to a cup of coca tea. The coca plant has antidepressant properties like other supplements that are legal on the market such as L-theanine or 5-HTP. It is a serotonin agonist. It is a myth that this plant alters the mind. Therefore, chewing gums, coca candies and coca tea should be made legal.
Coca Plant is a scared plant of South Americans, and can cause great revenue for Canada and even the US if they follow.
My wife has breathing problems when she exerts herslf. When we visited Peru, the mate de coca leaves helped her in a very significant way. Wé world hope to be able to importe leaves so she can find the respite she enjoyed during our trip to Peru.
If marijuana is legal then keeping mate de coca illegal is plain ignorance. One can get high on many legal substances like cocoa. Mate de coca kept my head straight in high altitudes of Peru.
All plants have medicinal value to them including the coca leaf. All people should have the right to choose what medicines they want to use for their own body especially if it's natural. Instead if big pharma drugs that cause more health issues than natural medicines. Legalize or decriminalization All natural medicines so people are free to choose what they want to for their own body for therapeutic usage.

Former alcoholic and stimulant addict here. Coca has been a blessing. Helps me have a healthy and productive life free of substance abuse. Legalize it!
