We the undersigned members of the CMEA all being currently in good standing write to affirm that we are not in support of the CMEA AGM held on Sunday March 6th primarily due to it being conducted deliberately in contravention of the CMEA constitution.

The traditional format of voting by a show of hands was strategically changed to a ballot box format by a few colluding members of the CMEA 2021 Exec in spite of the expressed disapproval of the sitting President Jean - eric Smith whom we still support.

This irresponsible eleventh hour decision resulted in the elections not being able to be concluded in one day, as it usually was, which is unprecedented for the association.

To further compound insult to injury some members were not notified of the continuation of the election held the following Sunday March 13 thereby denying those persons the opportunity to be included in the selection of the other executive position of the board.

As a result of these two constitutional failings, we the undersigned wish to have the CMEA annual elections held on March 6th and 13th of 2022 officially considered null and void.

As far as I know Mr. Jean Smith did a lot on favor of musicians in the Cayman Islands fighting for our rights and putting together different rules for Entities that need our services as entertainers and giving chances to be hired when it comes to hired foreign musicians. I'm not against any individuals but my concern is that when we voted I hardly believe that nor even half of the attendees knew the background and/or intentions of new members of the CMEA.
