I have purposed this petition to close the Campus of Valdosta State University in Georgia.

I am petitioning this due to the Incident that occurred involving the desecration of the American flag by some of it's students. Followed by the mishandling of the incident by the staff and security of VSU (Valdosta State University). The incident, which was allowed to occur on campus by students of VSU, endangered the lives of patriotic Americans and a Military Veteran as well.

This link will show you that the students of VSU were desecrating the American Flag and then a Military Veteran stepped up to defend that flag. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zJHdeMv4Kc

I will be sending this petition to the Governor of Georgia when it reaches 100,000 signatures.

It should be noted that according to the law (https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/700) Desecration of the American Flag should be penalized by a fine and/or Imprisonment, yet none of the people seen desecrating the Flag were arrested or detained, in fact the person(should receive a medal) who stopped the crime was arrested and detained by the police.

Please sign this petition for the sake of our Country!

God bless America!

Updates

April 19, 2015

The current momentum has prompted several regional news outlets to request formal interviews regarding the campus incident. I am currently organizing these statements to ensure our position reaches the governor with absolute clarity.

The very idea that this desecration went on for three days is of itself outrageous! Even more so is the fact that a soldier who tried to rescue the flag and was arrested simply demonstrates the ignorance of a weak administration did not even know that such desecration was a violation of the law! Perhaps the university is a good idea until they can find one true American who has a clue!

As a veteran of desert storm, and Iraqi freedom this is very disturbing, and really hurts me. Valdosta State is a discrase to not only Ga, but the whole country.

As I former US Marine, I am appalled at the actions of VSU in allowing protester to desecrate the American Flag that I served to protect.

It's is outrageous how this university allows this type of behavior and then hides behind US Supreme Court rulings. When you allow thugs to take over, it becomes a criminal environment.

The young veteran did EXACTLY the right thing. Those people have the opportunity to attend college but have no awareness of the opportunity it presents. All they can do is use an action that occurred 150 years ago to excuse their ignorance and immaturity. What a sad example of the selfish and entitled attitude of far too many people these days. They are just plain ignorant. I realize that universities are Leftist but seriously? Your staff had the vet arrested? How pathetic are YOUR Board of Governors anyway?
