We, as citizens of the United States and seekers of protected rights for all, demand the closing of the US naval base Guantanamo Bay.

The civil rights violations being committed at this prison hold costs to the integrity of the US Constitution that far outweigh the benefits of any information that may be gained at this site. Such crimes as torture and imprisonment without trial have no place under the US government, and are exactly the infringements on human rights that this nation was built to prevent. To simply move prisoners out of Guantanamo would leave too great a temptation to reuse the prison in the future, and as such we call for its closure entirely, so that future interrogation of war prisoners must be held on US soil and using methods within the limitations of US laws.

As such, we call on the US government to push for the closing of this offense to the US Constitution, and will continue to demand this until the day we see its closure.

Its a total embarassment to this country. We preach democracy and freedom but then do this? Close it down already and stop acting like we are above the law.
