The council's decision to restrict Dublin South Central street-cleaning services to once every three months has created not only unsightly debris across an entire neighbourhood but is leading to public safety issues - is only a matter of time before rats and other vermin begin to inhabit the area. The weekly rubbish and recycling collections allow foxes, cats and dogs to forage and tear open plastic rubbish bags, and the wind blows paper and plastic recycling around the streets. The area is now unhygienic and unsafe.
