Final supporters
Many people in our town Nuneaton is unhappy with the state our canals and river has got in to. Family use to go to Riversley park to see our beautiful River which is now swamped with rats, weeds and litter. With our River and canals cleaned Nuneaton could be a beautiful twn people would actually want to visit.

Why the council haven't cleaned the river in the park, I don't know. It would be great to see boats back on it. The natural paddling pool on the other side of the bridge, would be great to use again, why the council haven't made use if these I don't know. They like to put up hanging baskets but little else. Shame on them!
All waterways are very important in many ways we must look after them,if volunteers are needed count me in and there are many more people out there that would help if we have the backing and resources.
As someone who lives in Nuneaton, I love walking along rivers & canals on occasion & I'm saddened both by the state they've now in & how far the town's fallen as a result of this. I want our rivers & canals to return to in such a condition that make Nuneaton a town a place to visit again.
The river ia a disgrace you only have to visit Tamworth to see how it should be.It is a feature asset of the town which is sadly neglected.
The River Anker in Riversley park is such a mess. Its discgracfull. It lets the park and the town down. Years ago there used to be rowing boats that you could hire and many people had great fun. Its now dirty overgrown and nothing but a rubbish dump.

It's a disgrace at the moment used to be lovely when it had the boats on it and was well used.

Our beautiful river and canal should be a joy, yet you walk over a bridge, look down to see fish swimming amongst the rubbish. Tow paths are littered. We need to clean up then educate. Love our waterways!
