Welcome Walmart!
We are citizens of Clatsop and Pacific Counties respectively located in northwest Oregon and southwest Washington state. We are taking this opportunity to express our excitement over the continuing possibility of a Wlamart Superstore located in Warrenton Oregon. We are the people who feel that we have not been given a voice to express our thanks for considering this area to locate much needed jobs community support, competitive pricing and a future together with Walmart.
We would also like to thank the city council of Warrenton Oregon for helping to bring more choices to our communities throughout the Columbia coastal area. We feel this store will be a blessing to so many for a variety of reasons whether they work, shop or depend on the kinds of community programs that Walmart is known to facilitate and support in all the communities they touch.
We would also like to thank The Army Corps of Engineers for all of their hard work ensuring the the protection of our precious and unique enviroment and treating it with the utmost care and consideration. We know you have worked hard on our behalf and we appreciate all you have done.
We know the value of attracting Walmart into our community we realize it create jobs before the first shovel is turned that will continue to resonate throughout communities across our nation.
And to us that matters.
We know that Walmart will attract other new stores, restaurants, and create a demand for supporting businesses all of which will create more stability to our families through the leaner months when tourism falls off at years end. We see the positives assoicated with being chose to host a Walmart Superstore in our wonderful Warrenton Oregon and want you to know how many of us are anticipating a great opening day. We want you to know that "WE" are not represented by any faction claiming to know what GOOD for us, our future , or families.
We know what we want and we want you Walmart and we want you to come in now!

I am currently coordinating with local business owners to gather formal letters of support for the Warrenton site. Please send an email to your City Council representative today to reiterate how many families are waiting for these jobs and competitive prices. We need to keep the pressure on our local leaders until this project breaks ground.

We need one here so we don't have to drive a couple hours each direction just to be able to go shopping under a roof that has almost all needs and at decent prices.. And for those of us on fixed incomes and short on transportation it would be a financial prayer answered...
Walmart cannot get here fast enough. To quote another "finally some place locally where people can afford to shop!" I do and I have compared prices and our current local prices are two, some times three times more than what I can buy them for at Walmart. For basic items. Things people use every day.
People yell that Wal-Mart doesn't treat their employees right. Well I am here to say Fred Meyers fires employees 6 months before they can get retirement. They do not treat employees good at all. They like to turn and burn. But I did work for Walmart in Ohio and they where great to me.
It's time to get this done. Too many years have been wasted trying to stop the store from being built. Instead of keeping our money local ppl are driving an hour or more so that we can save and have more choices. Plus think of all the jobs that will be created.
Don't let CRAW speak for ALL of Warrenton. If they don't want to shop at Walmart, they don't have to. They can shop wherever they like, but if they keep rejecting Walmart, I'll start sending them bills for the clothes my toddler grows out of every 3 months!
I'm so very happy wal mart has finally arrived,a long 5 years.
As a person on disability, with mental illnesses, and many health problem's, I can now buy stuff I need at great low prices !!

I'm very excited, I love walmart!, the ridiculous prices of Fred meyers, is quite embarassing.. plus my husband and I , are currently working at the Wal-Mart site! What a great experience it's been since November! :) anyways Wal-Mart rocks!. If ya see my pink hard hat feel free to wave ;)
