This petition is for the establishment of a Class Action against Microsoft for their poor support towards gamers. Specifically those who have invested in a game or several games that relied on MS servers or services but can no longer play those games because of Microsoft's decision to cancel GFWL (Games For Windows Live). As of 1 July 2014 all games relying on GFWL will no longer operate or be accessible. We the customers and citizens feel that using online sever based technology as a method to curb piracy is only acceptable if that service has a lifetime warranty. That the expectation of the public is that once purchasing a product, they are able to use it for as long as they wish. That any software sold that relies on a server or internet connection or any other form of reliance to operate, should be sold with a branding and mandatory signature of Shareware or Tempware. Because the expectations of the public differ greatly from the services provided, we wish to make it illegal for a company or product manufacturer to sell any software or product that relies on specific servers to operate. We think it is fair to allow the user to decide which server service they wish to use and that it is unfair commerce to tie a particular product to a particular service. We the undersigned show our support for the above comments and wish to claim damages equal to the amount of our purchases that are affected by the actions of Microsoft.
