According the Clark Atlanta University Student Government Association Constitution and Bylaws, Article IX under Duties III, Section 1.6 states that Miss Clark Atlanta University should preside over the Kings and Queens coalition. Therefore, Miss Clark Atlanta University will guide and help courts such as the Royal Court, UNCF Court, RHA Court, NAACP Court, Greek Courts and any other organizations on campus that holds King’s and Queen’s positions.

As an institution committed to student involvement and equality among students, it is truly disheartening that males are not granted the opportunity to serve in any positions equivalent or similar to that of the royal court. I have heard complaints by members of the student body on a number of occasions that such exclusion of male students is, unfair, and to some extent, discriminatory.

For this reason, I would like to petition the House of Delegates to create an amendment which will provide the opportunity for men on the campus of Clark Atlanta University a chance to serve their institution in like capacity of the already established Royal Court. Such provision will encourage an increase in student leadership and promote inclusion of males in leadership positions in particular. Such inclusion of male students is imperative being that the male population of the university is already extremely low. Such provision will also increase male representation on campus, and move toward equalizing the influence of male students with the influence of female students.
