The workers of City Feed have officially secured union recognition. We are grateful to the community members who held firm in their support throughout this process. We look forward to beginning our first contract negotiations as an organized unit.

The workers of City Feed and Supply are organizing for the right to collectively bargain for equitable and living wages, healthcare and benefits, and a voice at work over issues of safety, harassment, COVID sick leave, and other working conditions that affect our physical, emotional, and financial well-being.
We love working at City Feed, and are proud to work at a small business that is a central part of the JP community. It is our belief that we need a union and the ability to collectively bargain for City Feed to be a sustainable place for service workers to work long-term and thrive. We value our relationships with customers, we care for each other, and we see the possibility of a better future for ourselves and the community as a whole.

City Feed owners David Warner and Kristine Cortese have decided not to voluntarily recognize the City Feed Workers’ Union. However, we are moving forward with filing an official election with the National Labor Relations Board and are staying optimistic. We maintain that every worker has the right to fair wages, transparency, and the ability to collectively bargain in their workplace. We are extremely grateful for all the kindness and solidarity we’ve received so far from the community— please continue showing your support for us by signing and commenting on this petition. The process of preparing for a formal election with the National Labor Relations Board is underway. We appreciate the thoughtful comments left by community members who value the dedicated staff at this store. Maintaining open communication remains our primary focus as we prepare for the next phase of this effort.

Delaying recognition until an election can be held is not a neutral act, however legal it might be. There is no good reason for delay, only bad ones motivated by a desire to undermine the union. Support your workers, and recognize their union!
I love this shop, and to hear that the owners are such an obstacle to City Feed workers' lives is very disheartening. Recognize the union. Meet their demands. Respect them enough to engage like the "community" you say you are.
JP resident and City Feed customer. A union is the right thing for workers and the right way for business owners to make sure they do right by the people who make the business work. Set a good example and do the right thing: recognize the union voluntarily.
I love City Feed because of their friendly staff. Since moving to JP in 2019 I have spent close to $1000 on coffee, food, and groceries. I strongly support their unionization drive and will rethink supporting City Feed if management does not embrace this effort.

Long time JP resident and city feed fan here. The idea that my favorite place is about to get a union and give its workers a fair contract makes me giddy. And it would be a huge, huge bummer if the owners don’t respond well to this effort.
