Are you aware of the proposed construction of an eight million dollar fine arts auditorium in Thomaston The proposal was discussed before the Board of Education during a recent community forum and is to be funded through a continuation of a local E-SPLOST initiative. This one project would account for nearly half of the revenue expected to be raised through the SPLOST over the next five years. With our community being decimated by record unemployment and a crippled economy, is now the time to be spending such an enormous amount of money on an auditorium that only serves the needs of a few If you are opposed to such outrageous spending during this difficult time, sign this petition and forward it to as many citizens of Upson County in your address book as possibe. You can sign the petition anonymously along with a comment if you don't feel comfortable using your name. 8 million is insane when people around here are struggling just to pay rent. fix the school roofs first instead of wasting tax money on a fancy stage
