Cigarettes are by far the most littered item in America. Not only do they have a huge negative impact on the enviorment, but the government spends billions of dollars cleaning them up each year. Cigarettes are NOT biodegradable. In Illinois, since the change of the smoking laws, the amount of cigarettes littered has increased dramatically. This is a problem that we need to take care of.
