As just about anyone whos on this page would be aware of our school Cheshire Public Highschool blocked all social media on the local wifi network. Although from certain perspectives this may seem like a good decision many beg to differ. One example of why social media should be unblocked is that some teachers and or clubs use a facebook or twitter to make anouncements or emergency scheduele changes. This block also isnt stoping the social media users from getting online. all its achieving is getting students mad and wasting cellular data

I am honestly stunned to see so many of you backing this request. If everyone reading this could send the link to just three classmates today we might actually reach that hundred mark.

Does chs know that not everyone has unlimited data? WiFi is a good thing and we use it for beneficial needs. It'd be nice if you heard the students' side before Making your own decisions with the wifi.
as someone with extreme anxiety, music can help me concentrate and calm down. the fact that it, a long with other social media, has been blocked serves no purpose except for upsetting the student body.
Chs is using up everyone's data and there is going to be many family fights causing more stress then just school
Many clubs and after school activities are going to suffer. Some websites needed to complete school assignments are blocked.
I rely on social media to get important updates from both the rampage and Mr Solan via Twitter and more.

We believe that communication and socialization is beneficial to the health of the school in it's entirety. Administrative services at Cheshire High School, I am speaking to you when I say this. Let the children have freedom on the internet. Let them stay "in the loop" with the school activities. The more you protest, the more they will rebel. I would like to be able to check my Facebook for announcements on clubs, sports, and actual activities that I am involved in. But no, god forbid people actually have a social life at CHS.
