Being a member of the choir in PWHS was always a fun and great experience but the thing we looked forward to at the end of our time at Pueblo West was painting our choir brick. It was a long standing tradition that the seniors got to leave their mark on the school that shaped them. The Dance team who now uses the old choir room painted over the bricks and honestly it hurtful. Choir students don’t get the registration like the athletes do but in some small way, this tradition made us feel like we were apart of something. Please sign this so I can hopefully show the administrative stuff that we would like to be able to repaint our bricks and have our mark still left on the school.
The administration has acknowledged the momentum behind this request and requested a formal meeting to discuss restoration options. I am currently compiling a proposal that details the historical significance of the brick wall to ensure our plan is airtight before I walk through those doors.

My brick is under that paint and I am beyond mad. They had no right to just cover up years of history like it was nothing. Fix this.

Other action could’ve been made before painting over the bricks. Along with that most of all they should’ve asked Mrs.K , the beauty behind all the amazing memories that were put into these bricks. Something must be done and further action will be taken. Sports matter at PWHS, so does Choir. “Respect is a way of life” Is one of the quotes PWHS uses. Now it’s time they better use it and stop being hypocritical.
