Braswell High School needs to have have school spirit and traditions, but we need to have those rights before we can do so. We need to be able to wear homecoming mums as, not only a high school tradition, but a Texas tradition as well. Our school needs to be adorned with posters that brighten up our halls and pump everybody up for events such as games, dances, and more. Pep rallies and spirit days are also a huge part of our high school experience that we should not miss out on. With enough signatures, we hope that we can show the administration that we need to be able to express our school pride and start traditions here at BHS. It's our first year here, so we absolutely must start it off on the right foot. What we do this year will be carried out for generations to come, so lets give Braswell a bright future. School traditions are what keep some kids in school! So sad to hear the admin is not allowing traditions to be built....don't let Braswell be the only Texas high school with no tradition. Dr. Braswell would be disappointed since he started out as a crucial member of Texas high school football and loved being part of all the traditions!
I'm a sophomore at BHS and would love to start some great traditions for the others that will visit the school and it would be amazing to be the first few set of people to establish traditions and set the bar for the next group of kids so the school can get better and better and maybe be one of the best schools in Texas.
WhenI heard about this I was very upset. Our Juniors were made tobtransfer after some made their Varsity teams and are coming from schools that allow this, they are already struggling with the transition. Why would you not want to add fun and pride.....so didappointing. Please reconsider!
As a parent of the cheer manager its frustrating that she isnt allowed to.participate and be involved or experience "spirit" events. Football and cheering are a huge part of highschool after all!
I would really like pep rallies this year I missed out on them last year at Ryan because I was a freshman and I thought it was cool when I walked into Ryan and saw posters making the walls colorful, but when I walk in to Braswell it looks like a dull prison.
I frogot that the prep rallys we are going to have but we don't have our main gym working yet we are waiting for it to finish.
I will say this now this is false all of it. The mums are a miss understanding and posters and events we can do it is just taking time to do these things. If you got any questions ask the principle or counselors or STUCO sponsers. -STUCO student

Since the inception of Braswell, it's been repeatedly stated that the student body would have the opportunity to shape the traditions and future of the new high school. This would be the students in action, taking on that challenge and creating the vision of the Braswell High School legacy they wish to pass on to future generations.
