Two job candidates both hold degrees from Columbia University one speaks only English and graduated at the top of his (or her) class, the other graduated in the top 30% but speaks Chinese and English fluently who gets the job? This is what is happening NOW can you imagine when your pre-schooler graduates.

"When you begin language study as a child you acquire a voice in a human conversation." Giving your child the gift of a second language is without a doubt one of the best decisions you will ever make. Research has demonstrated that children who learn a second language at a young age are more likely to develop native pronunciation, to express themselves creatively in both their first and second language, and to perform well in school and on standardized tests.
As a country America is far behind on the foreign language front , how many of your European or African friends speak 2 or more languages? Here in New York city the melting pot of America EVERY school should be a dual language school..... but one fight at a time.

Chinese is not only one of the most difficult languages to learn it is THE business language to learn and starting at a young age will give our children an important skill that will enable them to communicate using the worlds most spoken language Mandarin Chinese. Mandarin Chinese tops the list of most popular world languages, with nearly two billion speakers. English trails in third place, with 335 million speakers. This data includes all speakers of the languages, not only native speakers. Spread the word A (if not more) Chinese dual language program is Coming to Harlem Schools.
