The proposed reforms to the Family Law Act have passed, ensuring that our children can maintain meaningful relationships with both parents. I am deeply appreciative of the 348 people who stood behind this vision for a more equitable system. We must now remain diligent to ensure these changes are implemented …

Australian residents only please. This petition is conducted on behalf of all children that have been effected by separation or divorce and have not been supported by the Australian Family Law act. Bills are being introduced to parliament, to reform the act, so it will give equal partners from marriage equal rights and give our children the right to equal parents. The Family Law Act as it stands is highly flawed when it comes to protecting the interests of our nations children. It needs to be written in a way that gives both parents equal grounding. If both parents have equal capabilities and desire to support their children, and can be arranged in a way that suits the best interest of our children, then surely the law must be written in a way that will enforce this rather than restrict it. My brother has been through hell with the family court. He is a great dad and he deserves an equal chance to be in their lives.

TOTAL LACK OF FAIRNESS. I have been fighting for years just to be a regular parent. Fix this act now.

About time! The system is completely broken and outdated. Kids need both parents to grow up happy and secure.

It hurts to see how many kids are being used as leverage by ex-partners. Stop the madness and make shared care the standard.

My kids miss their dad so much. 50/50 should be the default option every single time. It shouldn't be a battle in court just to see them.
