The Clyde Hill City Council has officially rescinded the prohibition against keeping hens. I am deeply appreciative of the 369 individuals who lent their names to this effort. We look forward to seeing our neighbors enjoy these garden companions under the new, reasonable guidelines.

Final supporters
We support the rights of Clyde Hill residents to keep hens as family pets and urge the City of Clyde Hill to rescind any amendments to the Municipal Code that would prohibit chickens in Clyde Hill. Chickens are allowed in Bellevue, Mercer Island, Kirkland, Redmond, Seattle and other local communities. Hens are pleasant unobtrusive creatures that eat bugs and are friendly companions. We encourage the City of Clyde Hill to craft reasonable codes that respect the rights of homeowners to responsibly choose and care for their family pets.
A Golden Campine makes a friendly and affectionate garden companion!

The momentum surrounding our request for sensible residential codes has reached a significant point. This broad interest demonstrates that many residents seek the same freedom to keep hens as our neighboring cities currently allow. Such a outdated rule. Time for a change clyde hill!!
my neighbors in bellvue have 4 chickens and they are no bother at all. why are we so strict here?
Ridiculous that we cant have a few hens in the backyard. Most of the surrounding cities have no problem with it.
My kids really want to learn how to care for chickens. It would be such a great lesson for them.
YES PLEASE. fresh eggs and they help with the garden. let us do this.
Medina right down the street is allowed. Please let us have chickens too:)

I dont see how this hurts anyone. They are quiet and clean if you keep the coop nice.
