The town council just confirmed that the dog park is officially moving forward. My dog Rusty and I are beyond thrilled to see this finally happen after such a long wait. We will be keeping a close eye on the construction plans to make sure they follow through.
My signature on this petition indicates that I am in support of creating an off-leash dog park in Cheshire, CT as soon as possible. Efforts have been underway since 2008 and it's time for the town to show some support.
I have been going through the comments and seeing so many neighbors share the same frustration about the lack of space for our dogs to run. My own dog misses having a safe place to play and I am currently putting together a formal request to present to the town council.

Seeing this level of backing reminds me why I started pushing for this park all those years ago. It feels like the town is finally ready to recognize how much our dogs need a safe place to run.

We need dog parks all over the place, it'll make it safer and there can be a separate place for people to take their dogs and a seperate place for people to play football etc.

I would love to see a decent dog parks for my dogs. I used to live in Manhattan where there was a dog park within a mile at all times. I moved to CT and now I can't find a dog park with 20 miles of me.

There are countless reasons for dog parks, I guarantee you would see better trained and better socialised dogs, which means less dogs being given up and becoming trouble. It is also a great way for owners to socialise, their kids and teens etc.

I think every town should have a dog park. The more urban towns would definitely benefit because the area would be controlled and safer for the pets and their owners.

I think every town should have a park exclusively for the recreation of dogs. There are plenty of parks for children already.

I think more towns need these areas. I know of towns that have them and the residents that have dogs are very happy with them.
