Re: Negotiations for Sale and Purchase of Cheshire Racquet Club Property
Dear Sikes:
A large group of Cheshire Tennis Club members met Saturday morning to discuss the current negotiations for the sale of the club property. We are very concerned about the current situation and the status of the negotiations. We strongly support Bo Webb. We believe Bo’s continued presence and involvement are very important to the future of Cheshire Racquet Club.
At the meeting, we agreed to pay an increase in the club’s dues and fees sufficient to allow Bo to offer you a $750,000.00 purchase price for the club property. The increase will result in a significant additional cost to all of us. It is the largest increase the members can agree to accept. But we believe it is an important investment in the future success of Cheshire Racquet Club.
We do not want to involve ourselves in your and Bo’s negotiations. But we want you to know we have made a significant commitment to Bo, the club and the club’s future. We hope you appreciate and value our commitment. We urge you to work diligently with Bo to conclude a contract with him for the sale and purchase of the club property. This will ensure the future success of Cheshire Racquet Club and greatly benefit the Cheshire and Black Mountain tennis community.

The scale of this response confirms the community perspective is unified regarding the future of the racquet club. I am currently finalizing a formal letter to include these responses as an addendum to our proposal for Sikes Ragan. We will present this documentation at the next scheduled meeting to ensure our position is fully documented in the record.

I am in favor of Bo Webb's purchase of Cheshire Racquet Club. He has done a great job maintaining and directing our club for the last several years. Therefore he is the ideal person to purchase the property and to continue managing it in the future.
Sikes, You are being offered a more than fair amount for the club. For the village of Cheshire's livability, and the Black Mountain community, I suggest you accept this generous offer.

Being charter members of Cheshire we believe Bo has been doing an excellent job with the club and would like to see him continue with ownership.
Bo has the experience and desire to manage and grow the Cheshire Racquet Club. I hope he will be allowed to purchase it.

I totally support Bo in his desire to purchase the Cheshire Racquet Club. He has been an excellent director and inspiring teacher. I have been a member of the club for 15 years. It has been an important part of my life, and I strongly support it continuing under Bo's direction is the future. Dave Barstow
