We are going to petition the Minister for Transport to ask his department to extend the greater Dublin rail boundary to include Gormanstown , Laytown and Drogheda.

This petition will lead to cheaper rail fares and encourage motorists to use the rail network ahead of their car.

Please sign this petition if you want to see our public transport system be more cost effective to help tackle the carbon emissions of road users by getting more workers onto the rail system.

A thousand signatures is just spinning around in my head right now because I really thought this would just be me shouting into the void while waiting for the morning train. It is wild to see how many people are fed up with these ticket prices and I honestly cannot stop refreshing the page to watch the count tick up even though I should probably be doing laundry or getting some actual sleep.

I just blinked and saw the counter hit one hundred signatures which is honestly way faster than I expected for a Tuesday. It is actually wild to see so many people from Gormanstown and beyond wanting the same fare changes because sometimes I feel like I am just shouting into the void about these train prices (which are way too high by the way).

really hard to go places as a student who doesn't drive, takes forever to get into Dublin city via bus. All I want to do is get into Dublin to access the art galleries, how am I meant to get in and educate myself as a member of the future generation .

Have been travelling in train from Laytown for 16 years and fairs have only increased with no improvement to trains and new timetable does not service me at all as trains no longer going from pearse adds another 30mins onto an already long journey

It's more expensive for me to take the train from Laytown to Dublin than drive and park for the day. No student fully rate from Laytown! Radical overhaul to pricing structures needed. Please

it's a disgrace the price of a train ticket is nearly double the price from gormonston as it is from balbriggan.it is leaving the majority of people to drive their cars to balbriggan to get a train from there. Cars off the road???less emissions is that not what the aim is here??

There exist a ridiculous pricing discrepancy on the suburban rail line of fares paid by commuters traveling to Dublin from Laytown. The fares when taken in comparison to Balbriggan show this anomaly and that the fare structure is archaic. Please rectify this.

My son and daughter have to commute to college daily and the cost is ridiculous. Also if I want to take my eight-year-old on a day trip to Dublin on the train it is out of the question as it is far too expensive. I could get a flight cheaper than what I paid for the train

It has never made sense how one stop outside the Dublin border causes such a drastic increase in train fares. It was the astronomical train fares into work that caused me to get a car and drive to work. Even taking all the costs of maintaining a motor vehicle + petrol, etc still works out cheaper than getting the train into work and that is honestly bizarre. The fares need to be reduced to make it more affordable for commuters of Drogheda/Laytown/Gormanston to choose public transport over private cars.
