We need your HELP!  Keep Mr. McGowan as CHATA's Principal

We the residents of the City of Columbus, Westerville, and Gahanna are requesting to be heard by the Board of CHATA and the management company of Mosaica regarding the removal of Chief Administrative Officer of Columbus Humanities, Arts and Technology Academy.

Whereas Mr. Marvis McGowan has been a successful teacher and/or administrator in the Columbus Public School District and with the management company of Mosaica for over six years and the very effective Chief Administrative Officer of Columbus Humanities, Arts and Technology Academy for over two years.

Whereas, Columbus Humanities, Arts and Technology Academy has been consistently gaining ground in the state tests by having one of the highest Value Added scores among Columbus Public School system in the 2008-2009 and the 2009-2010 school years.

Whereas, Mr. McGowan has earned the confidence and respect of students, parent, community members, and a substantial majority of the faculty and staff of Columbus Humanities, Arts and Technology Academy.

Whereas, the Management company Mosaica has recommended the Mr. McGowan be terminated from his current position at Columbus Humanities, Arts and Technology Academy and that a new Chief Administrative Officer be hired for Columbus Humanities, Arts and Technology Academy.

Whereas, most school districts are facing substantial budgetary problems and the cost of a new administrator could exceed $150,000 that might be better used for other purposes that would directly benefit students.

Whereas, the Board of CHATA, as the elected representatives of the community, has the authority to direct the Management Company of Mosaica to retain Mr. McGowan as the Chief Administrative Officer of Columbus Humanities, Arts and Technology Academy.

Whereas, based on his long service and outstanding contributions to the district and management company of Mosaica, Mr. McGowan deserves the opportunity to be heard by the Board of Education before the Management Company take action that could jeopardize his career as a Chief administrative Officer and halt the educational process for our children.

Therefore, we, the concerned parents, teachers, voter, taxpayers and registered citizens of the City of Columbus, Westerville, and Gahanna respectfully request that the Board of CHATA, as our elected representatives, provide Mr. McGowan with a fair opportunity to be heard before it makes and/or supports any decision about removing Mr. McGowan as the Chief Administrative Officer of Columbus Humanities, Arts and Technology Academy.
