The state legislature has approved the $1.7 million in bullet aid for our charter schools. I am now coordinating with district financial officers to ensure these funds are allocated toward classroom resources immediately. We will monitor the distribution process to confirm the money reaches the intended programs.

Rochester Charter Schools are projected to see a decrease in funding due to the prior years' AOE (approved operating expense) change, which is a key component of the formula.
Rochester is one of the lowest-performing districts in the nation and one of the most underfunded in NYS.
Charter schools serve some of the most marginalized students in the district, and these cuts will be detrimental to our students’ progress.

The growth in support has caught the attention of legislative staff members. I am currently finalizing a formal briefing packet to present our request for bullet aid during our upcoming meeting.

As it is, charter schools only receive 2/3 of the state aid that school districts receive. They keep 1/3 for administrative costs. Charter Schools do not receive any local property tax money or grant funding that the school districts receive. We are challenged to do so much more for our students with so much less money. Please help us to ensure our students success!
Emdhcs is the best school for my daughters they help them learn two languages and helped my oldest daughter break out of her anti social shell so please dont defund their school or close it down.
My daughters have been in charter since kindergarten and I love everything about it, growing up in the city and attended rcsd I see the difference charter school can provide for my children and every other student attending a charter school.
This is one of the best schools I have taught at and without funding my students can not continue to flourish. Every dollar matters and goes a long way
We struggle with the budget we currently utilize. We need an increase not a decrease.
Our students deserved the best, an environment that will help them grow.
Please give our students a fair opportunity to be successful.

How can we even consider cutting funds for the charter schools in Rochester that are saving the futures of so many children in this under served and struggling community. We have time and time again shown that are test scores are higher graduation rates are higher and overall management and safety in our classrooms are improving. Rochester and it's future generation needs these charter schools. Please help and fund us so we can continue to make a difference!
